Thank you for your interest in the School District 27J. Your application will be carefully considered in the area(s) of your preparation, preference and license. Consequently, it is to the advantage of the applicant to make certain his or her file is complete.
 
Applications and vacancy notices are available on our website. SD27J applications are submitted online.
 
Process for the Administrative Applicant

Your application file must include:
  • School District Licensed Application. Do not substitute the resume or other documents for any portion of the application.
  • Transcripts.  Transcripts of all coursework MUST BE PROVIDED in order to complete your teaching contract.  We do accept copies for the application process, but will need official transcripts to calculate your contracted pay.
  • Resume.  Please submit a resume outlining your education experience and other experience as an additional piece to the application.
  • Professional References. You are required to submit three (3) current (not more than two years old) professional letters of recommendation and/or University Placement file.
  • Philosophy. Include a statement of your philosophy of education in 500 words or less.
  • Educator License.  You are required to submit a copy of your current Colorado educator license.  If you are not licensed in Colorado, you must obtain Colorado licensure prior to beginning your contracted assignment.  All teachers, administrators, or special service providers must be licensed by the Colorado Department of Education. Information and applications for licensure may be obtained through the Colorado Department of Education at (303) 866-6628 or by accessing their website at http://www.cde.state.co.us.

The District Hiring Process
The application is reviewed for completeness:
  • Completed applications are processed.
  • Applications are added to a database until vacancies occur.
As openings occur:
  • The District posts the vacancy.
  • The applicant may view the vacancy notice on our website at http://www.sd27j.org.
  • Applicants will be included in candidate pools for positions in which they are qualified.
Human Resources will provide school sites with a report of qualified candidates from the database, then:
  • Interviews are scheduled by the schools.
  • Human Resources is notified by the school site of a recommendation for hire following interviews and reference checking.
  • Human Resources will contact the successful candidate to discuss the contract and payroll/benefits orientation schedule.
  • All hiring is subject to approval by School District 27J Board of Education.
